Dorough Lupus Foundation Award Over $200,000 In Grants
Source: Dorough Lupus Foundation Atlanta, GA, September 17, 2002 - Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough will be on hand as The Dorough Lupus Foundation presents a $165,000 check for Lupus Research to the Arthritis Foundation, located at 1330 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30309. Check presentation ceremony to begin promptly at 1pm est. Ceremony, interviews and photo-ops to last approximately one hour. The Dorough Lupus Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Howie D. of the "Backstreet Boys" and his family to increase Lupus awareness, raise money for lupus research and provide financial assistance for those individuals living with the disease who cannot afford treatment. The foundation will also be presenting another grant in the amount of $50,000 to Dr. Bev Hahns at the UCLA hospital. Making the total amount of gift giving for 2002 exceed $200,000.
